Serious, disciplined, curious.

After three months of intensive military training, I now serve as a volunteer gendarme in the specialist role of IT assistant. My daily work, on a mostly Ubuntu (GendBuntu) fleet: preparing workstations, administering servers, managing access rights and backups, and supporting users, in an environment where tool availability really matters.

I focus on infrastructure, cybersecurity, virtualisation and user support. I am looking for a civilian job where I can build on what the Gendarmerie taught me: rigour, team spirit and a strong sense of responsibility.

01What kind of position are you looking for?

A civilian IT job: IT support technician, or systems & network technician or administrator. I am also open to work-study programmes that help me grow my skills.

02Why leave the Gendarmerie?

My contract as a volunteer gendarme gave me a first foothold in operational IT. I now want to commit to it fully, in an organisation where I can keep growing technically over the long term.

03What does your military background bring to an IT role?

Following procedures, handling stress and acting fast when a service is critical. These are exactly the reflexes expected in IT support and operations.

04Where can you work?

I am based between the Eure and Seine-Maritime departments in Normandy, France, and I hold a driving licence. I currently work in the Yvelines, near Paris: positions in Normandy and in the Paris region are both of interest.
